It was only a few years ago when cannabis was not legal and seen by society as a "street drug". Even today, cannabis is only medically and recreationally legal in certain states, and still not federally legal in the United States. So openly discussing the use of cannabis, especially as a parent was not as common as it is becoming. I remember growing up, and randomly getting wiffs of that "skunk" smell, in the backyard or garage. Now I realize that was my dad low-key smoking "reefer"! Now I work full-time in the recreational cannabis industry. It's funny the way life comes full circle.

I grew up around many cannabis consumers, but never knew it until I was older, because it was something people didn't always open up about. Seeing the looks of shame from other parents when they find out we smoke weed; it's no wonder so many of us are scared to proudly admit using cannabis. Luckily with each passing year, it is becoming easier to say we are "conscious cannabis parents". And what exactly does that term mean? It states that us, parents, are focused on our mental health, so we truly break the stigma. We are the modern mom's who are educated and want society to see that plant medicine helps us evolve into the best version of ourself. Reducing the use of medical pharmaceuticals, depending on our needs and okay'd by a doctor, and switching over to natural plant medicines may have immense benefits for so many different parts of our body. Our mind, soul, health and overall wellbeing can benefit from trying cannabis.
